The police arrested an inter-district notorious criminal and recovered gold worth Rs 10 lakh.
SP Rahul Dev Sharma told the media that the police arrested Chennuri Rakesh who earned notoriety for burglaries.
The Eluru 2 town police arrested him on Gudivada road.
He committed burglaries in 11 houses at various places here. Most of the burglaries took place in the area near the railway station and bus station. The police enhanced patrolling in the areas.
On a reliable tip-off, the police arrested the burglar. He was addicted to vices and to earn money easily he started committing thefts and burglaries.
He was a school dropout, the SP said. The police recovered gold jewellery worth Rs 10 lakh and one mobile phone from him.
