Velpula Ravi Kumar, the newly appointed Chairman of the New and Renewable Energy Development Corporation of Andhra Pradesh Limited (NREDCAP) has unveiled an ambitious initiative by the state government to equip all Gram/Ward Sachivalayam centres with solar power systems. Kumar emphasized the government’s commitment to leveraging solar energy and implementing measures to ensure its widespread utilization while safeguarding conventional energy sources.
Assuming his role as Chairman at the NREDCAP office in Tadepalli near Vijayawada on Thursday, Kumar addressed the press, highlighting Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s directive to NREDCAP to incentivise residential solar panel installations. He underscored the potential of solar power to alleviate the burden of escalating electricity costs on citizens.
Moreover, Kumar announced plans to extend concessions to farmers interested in adopting solar technology, emphasizing the department’s commitment to conducting awareness campaigns to promote its adoption. He reiterated the environmental benefits of solar energy, emphasising its role in curbing pollution.
