NTR district wins AP Winter Aquatic Overall Championship

The NTR district has won the seventh Inter-district Sub Junior and Junior Winter Aquatic Championship by scoring 313 points while Krishna district stood in second place with 104 points.

The two-day Winter Aquatic Championship concluded at the Biswanath Bharatiya DSA swimming pool at Eluru on Sunday.

The swimmers from NTR district performed well and won 45 gold, 25 silver and 13 bronze medals. Krishna swimmers bagged 14 gold, 10 silver and four bronze medals.

Also, Krishna’s Sampath Kumar Yadav and NTR district’s M Sharath jointly won the Boys’ Group 1 championship, and M Theerthu Samdev and B Prudhbi Raj (NTR district) won Group 2 and Group 3 championships, respectively. In the girls’ category, U Premamrutha (NTR district) bagged the Group 1 championship while Sh Avigna (Guntur) and N Pavani Sarayu (NTR district) jointly won Group 2 championship, and K Lasya Sri (NTR district) and T Aradhya (Krishna) won Group 3 championship.

Krishna District Swimming Association secretary I Ramesh congratulated the medal winners from both Krishna and NTR districts. He said that about 50 swimmers in sub junior and junior categories will participate in the nationals to be held in Kerala from December 27 to 29.
