Gazetted Instructor at Extension Training Centre (ETC), Sobha Swaroopa Rani, has been placed under suspension for indulging in irregularities in preparing the voters’ list.
Special Chief Secretary B Rjasekhar issued a GO placing her under suspension. It is said in the GO that certain irregularities are noticed in the deletion of voters from the electoral roll. Sobha Swaroopa Rani, the then Chief Executive Officer of Zilla Parishad, Anantapur and presently working as Gazetted Instructor in the Extension Training Centre (ETC) in Bapatla, was placed under suspension.
It is also said in the GO that she was placed under suspension as she engaged herself in activities in connection with the deletion of as many as 1,796 voters during the year 2020 to 2021, from the electoral roll of the 149-Uravakonda AC of Andhra Pradesh, without following the due procedure as prescribed under Election Commission of India’s instructions dated 02.08.2021, 13.11.2021 prevailing at that time and for violating the regulation of Election Rules 1960.
The suspended officer was instructed not to leave the headquarters without obtaining the prior permission of the competent authority.
