Officials directed to prepare plan to implement SSG 2023

District Collector V Prasanna Venkatesh has directed the officials to prepare an action plan to implement ‘Swachh Sarvekshan Gramin-2023’ in rural areas.

A district level training program was organized with the MPDOs, the EORDs and the data operators at Zilla Panchayat Resource Centre under the chairmanship of ZP CEO K R Ravi Kumarv on Wednesday.

Speaking on the occasion, the district Collector directed the officials to prepare an action plan to implement the ‘Swachh Sarvekshan Gramin-2023’ programme in rural areas. The Collector said that the Central government would give Swachh Sarvekshan rankings and asked the officials to select 2 model villages in a mandal in the district for a cleanliness survey and make the villages clean and green.

Collector Venkatesh said that the people should be attracted through innovative methods, they should be made aware of cleanliness and should be involved in this scheme. He said that 2 villages in the mandal should achieve a hundred percent purity.

The Collector said that this program would be conducted for 6 months and the cleanliness survey should be completed in 56 village panchayats of the district in a phased manner. ‘Swachh Sarvekshan’ programme is being conducted in two villages, he said, adding that he would visit the two villages. Joint Collector P Arun Babu would conduct inspections in the two villages and in the rest of the villages, the inspections would be conducted under the supervision of the Zilla Parishad CEO, he informed.

The Collector said that the public representatives, officials and people should come forward to make their villages as clean. He said that officials at the central level would monitor the implementation of the Swachh Sarvekshan programme and identify the ranks. Collector Venkatesh asked every village officer to download the Swachhata app and promote the programme information, adding that school students should not be used in the sanitation program.

“Students can be used in organizing rallies with slogans to increase the consciousness and awareness of the village people”, the Collector made it clear. The Collector ordered that the mandal level officials should work for the development and cleanliness survey conducted in the villages. ZP CEO KR Ravikumar, DPO Mallikarjuna Rao and RWS SE MVV Satyanarayana were among those who were present.
