Officials told focus on Mahila Sakti scheme

District Collector Muzammeel Khan has explained that the objective of Mahila Sakti scheme is to empower women economically and exhorted the district officials to implement the scheme successfully. He directed them to take steps to set up industries through the promotion of women self-help groups.
He was taking part in an awareness programme on Mahila Sakti Scheme held at Tekulapalli on Tuesday.
He explained the salient features of the schemes. He advised the woman entrepreneurs to develop understanding about the industry they intend to set up and gain confidence to achieve success. Supplying the goods manufactured by small units in tune with the public demand would lead to success, he said.
He wanted the units to be set up by women’s groups and manufacture quality goods. Creating an attractive logo is essential to gain business. He appealed to the SHG women to work with coordination and achieve growth.
Turning his attention to officials, he asked them to encourage women of SHGs to set up units after assessing their understanding in the relevant business. He asked the Anganwadi workers to provide nutritious food like eggs, iron tablets to children and expectant mothers. He asked the village-level health teams to remain alert on seasonal diseases. He told people to drink water after boiling and cooling it and laid emphasis on maintaining sanitation in villages.
He asked the authorities to complete Amma Adarsha Pathasala scheme works on a war-footing. There is no shortage of funds with the government and hence the contractors will get paid as and when they completed the works.
District Rural Development Officer Sanyasaiah, DMHO Dr Malati, DEO Somasekhara Sarma, LDM Srinivasa Reddy, district welfare officer Ramgopal Reddy and others were present.
