District Collector Hanumanth K Zendage directed officials to ensure wholesome food to inmates in hostels. He warned action if officials failed to provide all basic amenities in hostels.
On Wednesday, the Collector held a review meeting with Regional Coordinator of the hostels, Rajani, and the principals of the hostels at the conference hall.
The officials have been directed to take special care to ensure that wholesome food is provided. Cleanliness of the dining area is very important, frequent inspection of the goods and storeroom, strict adherence to the indent of goods and maintenance of registers, inspection of kitchen stock, fresh stock of rice, dal, cooking oil, groceries, etc. should be used for cooking. Since it is the rainy season, it is advised to ensure the availability of cooking materials in the dry weather. He said that every student should take care of their health and if there is any minor health problem during the rainy season, it should be brought to the attention of the doctors and medical help should be provided.
The Regional Coordinator was directed that there should be field level monitoring of the functioning of the hostels.
