“The Indian Constitution and the people will be protected only by the INDIA bloc. There will be a threat to the Indian Constitution from the BJP rule in the country,” opined several leaders of anti-BJP political parties and people’s organisations at a held at the Hotel Ilapuram in Vijayawada on Sunday. The meeting passed a unanimous resolution to defeat the BJP at the Centre and protect the rights of backward sections.
The Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) organised the meeting of anti-BJP political parties and SC, ST, BC and Minority leaders.
Former Union minister JD Seelam presided over the meeting and CPM, CPI and other like-minded party leaders attended the meeting.
Speaking on the occasion, APCC president Rudra Raju said that regional parties YSRCP, TDP, and Jana Sena are supporting the BJP directly or indirectly. So, these three political parties are doing injustice to the State, he alleged. In this connection, the anti-BJP forces should strengthen and work to strive for the defeat of BJP and its ally, he asked. There will be a need to strengthen the INDIA bloc in Andhra Pradesh and Rudra Raju urged the people to help this to win in the coming Lok Sabha and Assembly elections.
CPM state secretariat member Y Venkateswara Rao, CPI state secretariat member Jalli Wilson, Congress party working president Sunkara Padmasri, Mahila Congress leader L Tantia Kumari, and others participated.
