ONLY ONE PERSON SHOULD SPEAK TO THE MEDIA

In some of the wings of the TG government, there seems to be an unofficial ban on talking to the media. Although IPS officers have typically been more media savvy than other AIS officials, the situation is quite different in TG Cyber Security Bureau, Women Safety Wing and of late CID. For, only one official is allowed to speak to the media. A little bird told us that only the Director will speak to scribes, while others are barred from coming in media glare. Interestingly, this runs counter to the initial brouhaha that in Praja Palana “officials have more freedom” and, at one point, media too felt it briefly. Maybe, all of it was for photo-op
