Orders issued to allot 50% of hostel to Nizam College girls

Education Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy has passed orders on distributing the Nizam College hostel. She said that after holding a meeting with the girls of Nizam College and as they asked for orders in written format, the letter had been issued. The order says that hostels will be 50-50 per cent to PG Osmania women and UG girls of Nizam College.

The order said the Government has accorded permission to HMDA and released the funds to the Registrar, Osmania University, for the construction of a hostel building for accommodating 200 girl students of Nizam College.

The hostel building has been fully completed and handed over to the Nizam College for allotment to the girl students of the college. The Principal of Nizam College and the university authorities had decided to allot the hostel accommodation only for Post-Graduate students of Nizam College.

However the Under-Graduate students of Nizam College approached the Commissioner of Collegiate Education to allot the hostel for them.

After due consideration of the issue, the Commissioner of Collegiate Education directed to allot 50 per cent hostel capacity to UG students and 50 per cent to PG girl students in the newly constructed hostel building with immediate effect. The Principal of Nizam College was asked to take action in the matter.
