Election Commission warns violators of penal action
CEO Vikas Raj said that the EC received complaints that some companies are not willing to grant holiday to their employees
Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Vikas Raj said that the Election Commission is getting reports that certain software and other companies have refused to grant paid holiday to their employees on the day. T Any body found will face penal action.
On Saturday he held a press conference in BRK Bhavan in Hyderabad. He said that the Election Commission of India has identified 9,900 critical polling stations in the state. The ECI has received 92 complaints from the political parties in the state and it issued notices to them. Those who received notices should reply to the ECI within 14 days. For the first time, the ECI was sending SMS directly to the voters of a particular age group to participate in voting.
The Commissioning of all the EVMs had been completed. A total 293 cases related to drugs and narcotics, 449 cases related to IPC cases were registered. Â
A total of 160 Central Forces Companies, 72,000 State police, 20,000 From neighboring States, 4, 000 Other uniformed Services have been deployed for the elections. A total of 1,05,019 Ballot Units (BU), 44,569 Control Units (CU), 48,134 Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) are available for the elections.
A total of 559 approvals given to advertisements by MCMC, 11,112 Permissions given under Suvidha, 2,342 complaints received through C-Vigil, 511 complaints received through 1950 call-centre, 10,526 complaints received through National Grievance Service Portal (NGSP).
Display of election campaign related matters on TV, cinematograph and other apparatus banned for 48 hour.
