Government General Hospital Superintendent and his son were killed and his wife and daughter were injured when the car in which they were travelling rammed into a culvert at Pedanaidupet in Nandigam mandal in the wee hours of today.
Police said that the deceased Made Ramesh (45) was working as Superintendent of Government General Hospital in Palasa. He, along with his son Sankalp (14), wife Prasanna Lakshmi, and daughter Sairya were going to Visakhapatnam.
Their car rammed the protection wall and a culvert killing Dr.Ramesh and his son Sankalp instantaneously. His wife Prasanna Lakshmi and daughter Sairya were injured in the accident. Dr. Ramesh was driving the car when the accident took place and he was drowsy at the steering wheel resulting in him losing control of the vehicle. The injured were shifted to the GGH in Srikakulam.
Meanwhile, in another road accident, six persons were critically injured when the car in which they were travelling collided with a lorry at Martur in the Bapatla district on Monday. Police said that Venkataramana, along with his family members, went to the hill shrine Tirumala.
While going back to their native village Kattubadipalem in G Konduru mandal in Krishna district the accident took place. The car was badly damaged under the impact of the collision. The injured were shifted to the GGH in Guntur and Martur.
