One of India’s most wanted terrorists and 2016 Pathankot attack mastermind, Shahid Latif was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Pakistan’s Sialkot on Wednesday,
Latif was a senior leader of the terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed, which took responsibility for the 2016 attack on the Air Force base in Pathankot. He was wanted by the National Investigative Agency (NIA) in an Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) case.
His criminal history dates back to his arrest on November 12, 1994. Following a 16-year prison sentence in India, he was deported via the Wagah border in 2010. After his release, Latif went back to the Jihadi factory in Pakistan.He was also involved in the hijacking of an Indian Airlines plane in 1999.
