‘Pattu Vastrams’ presented to Goddess at Tiruchanoor

As part of the tradition, every year during Karthika Brahmotsavams of Tiruchanoor temple, the Chandragiri MLA and TTD ex-officio board member Dr Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy presented ‘Pattu Vastrams’ to Goddess Padmavati on behalf of Tummalagunta Venkateshwara Swami temple on Thursday.

Earlier, Dr Bhaskar Reddy, accompanied by his spouse, was given a traditional reception at temple Mahadwaram by TTD JEO Sri Veerabrahmam. Later, he had the darshan of ‘Ammavaru’.

Speaking to the media later, the MLA said for several years the practice of presenting ‘Pattu Vastrams’ on the occasion of ‘Gaja Vahana’ during ‘Karthika Brahmotsavams’ is in vogue. Temple DyEO Lokanatham and other officials were present.

Majestic ride of Goddess
The much-awaited moment for the devotees who have been longing for the past two-and-a-half years, arrived on Thursday evening at 7 pm when the Goddess of Riches, Padmavathi Devi, took out a celestial ride on Her favourite carrier ‘Gaja Vahanam’ in Tiruchanoor on the fifth day evening as a part of the ongoing ‘Karthika Brahmotsavams’. Adding the extra glamour to the celestial beauty is the ‘Lakshmi Kasula Haram’ brought from Tirumala which was adorned to Her to enhance the divine charm for this special and momentous occasion.

This significance for the divine elephant has been attributed in various ways with many puranic references. The elephant is not only considered mighty just because of its size but of its intelligence, martial skills, and divinity but is often considered a symbol of royalty.

Goddess Padmavathi represents wealth, prosperity, brightness, light, wisdom, fortune, fertility, generosity, and courage. She symbolizes royal elegance, beauty, grace, and charm and hence she prefers to take a pleasure ride on the “Royal Elephant” which is Her favourite ride during the Brahmotsavams.
