Pawan politicising fishing harbour fire, says Ambati

Must read

Minister for Irrigation Ambati Rambabu has accused Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan of exploiting the recent fishing harbour fire accident for political gain.
Addressing the media in Vijayawada on Sunday, the Minister asserted that the government responded promptly to the incident, swiftly announcing compensation within three days. “Pawan Kalyan, in a special flight to Visakhapatnam, spent lavishly and offered Rs 50,000 to each boat owner,” he remarked in a derisive tone.
Highlighting that 30 fishing boats were completely destroyed, with 19 suffering partial damage, Ambati Rambabu said that the Chief Minister pledged to provide 80% of the total boat value.
The government promptly disbursed Rs 7.11 crore for this purpose, extending support to the affected fishermen to resume their livelihoods within the stipulated three-day period, he claimed.
Expressing regret that Pawan Kalyan chose to criticise instead of acknowledging the Chief Minister’s swift response and compensation efforts, Ambati Rambabu questioned Kalyan’s connection to Andhra Pradesh, noting the absence of a residence and questioning the whereabouts of his wife and children.
Accusing Pawan Kalyan of following the directives of Chandrababu Naidu, the minister asserted that the Kapu community is not inclined to be deceived. He criticised Kalyan for lacking political stability and perception.
Furthermore, Ambati Rambabu challenged Pawan Kalyan to clarify whether Chandrababu Naidu is supporting Jana Sena Party candidates in the ongoing Telangana state elections. Emphasising the distinct political landscapes of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, the minister underscored the necessity for a cordial relationship between the two states.
