Water Resources Minister, Ambati Rambabu, has made serious allegations against Jana Sena Party chief, Pawan Kalyan, regarding his recent movie, ‘Bro’, accusing him of using it as a platform to attack political opponents and convert black money to white money through movie productions involving opposition leader Chandrababu Naidu.
Addressing the media on Tuesday, the minister criticized Pawan Kalyan, claiming that the movie was made with the intention of scolding his enemies, but it turned out to be a major flop.
He expressed concerns about the decreasing collections and suggested that the producers might be resorting to controversies to recoup their investment.
Minister Ambati Rambabu further alleged that the movie was financed using black money and aimed at turning it into white money. He raised objections to Pawan’s association with a new producer, Viswa Prasad, who belongs to the TDP camp and is an NRI, indicating a possible link to questionable financial practices involving money from the USA.
The Minister accused TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu of providing package money to Pawan Kalyan through these sources and insinuated that black money might be involved in funding Pawan Kalyan’s movies. Ambati also demanded clarification from Pawan Kalyan about the amount of package money received and his remuneration for the movie ‘Bro’.
Furthermore, Ambati criticised the movie’s title ‘Bro’ and suggested alternative titles that he believed would be more fitting. He expressed his disappointment with the film’s content and predicted that Pawan Kalyan’s future movies would also face failure, leading to a decline in the audience’s interest.
The Minister also warned filmmakers against using movies to defame the Andhra Pradesh government and its ministers. He singled out writer-director Trivikram for an episode in the movie “BRO” that allegedly resembled and targeted Ambati Rambabu. Ambati threatened to take harsh action against Tollywood filmmakers if they continued to use such tactics.
