The Revenue, Housing, I & PR Minister, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, asked Collectors to work according to the government’s priorities. Collectors should pay special attention to implementing the Indiramma Indlu and Bhu Bharati Act, as they are important for the government, he added.

Ponguleti held a video conference on Tuesday with Collectors on Bhu Bharathi, Indiramma Indlu, LRS, etc, along with Chief Secretary Shanthikumari.

Speaking on the occasion, he said the government introduced the Bhu Bharathi Act as it was necessary for the people and that it is the responsibility of Collectors to implement it. He asked Collectors to study the Bhu Bharathi Act in depth before going to the public.

Ponguleti said that revenue meetings have been held in 16 of the 56 revenue villages from April 17 in the four mandals where the Bhu Bharathi pilot project is being implemented. So far, 5,905 complaints have been received regarding land issues during these meetings. Of these, 1076 were from Nelakondapalli in Khammam district, 233 from Maddur in Narayanapet district, 810 from Lingampet in Kamareddy district, and 3,786 from Venkatapuram in Mulugu district.

He asked Collectors to complete revenue meetings in the pilot mandals by April 30. Keeping in mind the experience gained from the four pilot mandals, one mandal from each of the remaining 28 districts, except Hyderabad, will be taken as pilot mandals in the first week of May, and the Bhu Bharati Act will be implemented in them.

Before this, a team of officials led by the Tahsildar of the four mandals will conduct a workshop on the Bhu Bharati Act for Tahsildars, Deputy Tahsildars and two other officials of these 28 mandals.

He said that awareness sessions on Bhu Bharati have been organised in 159 of the 605 mandals in the state. It was suggested that pending applications in the CCLA stage should also be included in the revenue meetings in the pilot mandals. Keeping in mind the rainy season, Ponguleti asked Collectors to complete the selection process of Indiramma housing beneficiaries on a war footing by the first week of May and to speed up construction.

He said that beneficiaries should be selected for 3,500 houses in every Assembly constituency, a gazetted officer would be appointed for 200 applicants, and only the eligible ones should be given Indiramma houses. If ineligible ones are selected, the gazetted officer would be held responsible.

He said that money should be deposited in the beneficiaries’ bank accounts only after the construction of Indiramma houses is completed, with an area of not less than 400 square feet and not more than 600 square feet.

He said that he will soon hold a meeting with companies along with Industries Minister Sridhar Babu to provide steel and cement at a lower price to beneficiaries.

He expressed dissatisfaction as the selection of Indiramma Indlu beneficiaries in Adilabad, Jagtial, Nizamabad, Vanaparthi, Mancherial, and Gadwal districts was not at the expected level.

He clarified that the government has no plans to extend the LRS deadline, which ends on April 30. The government would provide the 25 per cent subsidy only for one more week, he added.
