Holds sandals while slamming JSP chief

In a fresh political confrontation, YSRCP MLA Perni Venkataramaiah (Nani) on Thursday expressed his anger at Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan by showing him a pair of sandals.
Nani conveyed his party’s disapproval of the abusive remarks directed at Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and the attempts to defame the YSRC government. This gesture was in response to Pawan’s earlier act of showing a slipper to the YSRCP for labelling him as the “adopted son of Chandrababu Naidu.”
Nani alleged that Pawan’s political motives were focused on restoring Chandrababu Naidu’s influence, suggesting that Jana Sena was formed solely in the interest of the TDP.
During a press conference, MLA Perni suggested that Pawan would be better suited to name his vehicle ‘Narahi’, as he seemed to be serving Chandrababu Naidu’s interests. He also criticised Pawan for his inconsistent actions and tendency to deviate from his previous statements.
MLA Nani questioned Pawan’s actions by referring to a situation where Harish Rao ridiculed Andhra Pradesh. He challenged Pawan to provide evidence of any adverse impact on his films during the tenure of Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Nani pointed out that only two of Pawan’s films were released after Jagan assumed power, with no attempts made by the Jagan government to hinder their success. He warned that if Pawan continued to engage in theatrics, he would face serious consequences.
MLA Nani recalled the alliance between Chandrababu, BJP, and Pawan Kalyan from 2014 to 2019 and questioned why Pawan did not address the corruption allegations against Janma Bhoomi committees and other illegal activities during that period.
He said Pawan’s lack of response when Harish Rao made derogatory remarks about Andhra Pradesh and its people is surprising. Furthermore, Nani pointed out the inconsistency in Pawan’s statements, noting that he spoke differently when residing in Hyderabad compared to when he visited Andhra Pradesh.
He reminisced about the 2014 BJP-JSP-TDP alliance, its dissolution in 2019, and the recent attempts to forge an alliance among the three parties. MLA Nani posed the question, “How many times have you (Pawan) sided with Chandrababu Naidu and Narendra Modi? It has been nine years since you urged people to vote for Narendra Modi.
How many times have you criticized Modi’s mistakes during these nine years? How many times have you supported Chandrababu?” He emphasized that he had never witnessed Chandrababu’s shirt being torn.
Regarding Pawan’s statement expressing his willingness to accept the post of Chief Minister, MLA Nani questioned the concept of donating such a position, as if it were a charitable act. He referenced the words of the renowned poet Sri Sri, who said, “Nothing comes to you by itself. You have to search and achieve. That is courage.”
Nani attributed this quality to Jagan and criticized Pawan for pleading for the position of Chief Minister. He added that if Pawan aspired to be Chief Minister, he would need to secure a significant number of seats, as his chances of realizing this ambition were slim.
