PM ‘endorses’ Araku coffee in ‘Mann Ki Baat’

In a heartfelt tribute during his ‘Mann Ki Baat’ radio address on Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded the Girijan Cooperative Corporation (GCC) for its extraordinary success in bringing Araku Valley coffee to global prominence. Emphasizing the coffee’s unique qualities, PM Modi celebrated the dedication of tribal communities in Alluri Sitaramaraju district, whose hard work, supported by GCC and the Andhra Pradesh Government, has transformed a local product into an international sensation.
“It is a matter of immense pride for India that Araku Valley coffee, with its exceptional aroma and taste, is now cherished worldwide,” declared the Prime Minister.  He highlighted that the extensive cultivation of Araku coffee has economically uplifted over 150,000 tribal families, thanks to the GCC’s unwavering efforts in promoting coffee farming.
Reflecting on his visit to Visakhapatnam, PM Modi fondly recalled enjoying Araku Valley coffee with Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, highlighting its superior flavor. He noted the coffee’s multiple global awards and its popularity at high-profile events such as the G20 Summit in Delhi. PM Modi urged everyone to experience the unique taste of Araku Valley coffee. G. Suresh Kumar, Vice Chairman & Managing Director of GCC, expressed immense pride in the Prime Minister’s recognition of Araku Valley coffee during the ‘Mann Ki Baat’ program.
He underscored the critical support provided by the state government and GCC in fostering the growth of the tribal communities in the Alluri district. Kumar affirmed that PM Modi’s laudatory remarks will inject excitement, enthusiasm, and motivation among tribal coffee farmers, GCC staff, government departments, and all stakeholders in coffee cultivation.
 He reiterated that Araku coffee is a vital instrument in the economic upliftment of tribal communities in Andhra Pradesh.
As Araku Valley coffee continues to win hearts globally, PM Modi’s acknowledgement serves as a testament to the potential of Indian local products on the international stage.
His call to appreciate and support such indigenous excellence resonates as a powerful message for all Indians to cherish and promote the rich cultural and agricultural heritage of the nation.
