The Banjara Hills Police filed a case against the two sons of BRS Rajya Sabha MP Dr K. Keshava Rao. The case was taken up on June 13 but it came to light only on Sunday (July 16).

Police said that one Jayamala, who was staying at Banjara Hills, Road Number 13, and one P. Sudharshan Reddy (dead), had purchased 939 square yards of land jointly from one Shaik Alikhan Ahmed in 1983.

Jayamala had purchased 469 square yards and Sudharshan Reddy 470 square yards from Shaik Alikhan Ahmed. The land is located on Banjara Hills, Road Number 12, NBT Nagar, survey number 129 (new survey number 403). Jayamala took the site in the north and Sudarshan Reddy took the one in the south. Later, Jayamala settled in the US. But Jayamala got an Income Tax Department notice last year at the house she had stayed in at Banjara Hills, Road Number 13. The notice said that she had sold the land for Rs 2,13,67,500 in fiscal 2014-15 and that she has to pay a tax and penalty of Rs 1,40,41,300 as capital gains. Shocked at the notice, Jayamala came to Hyderabad a few days ago. Jayamala said that the property documents were in her name and that she had given a special power of attorney including official rights in 2019 to the then Telangana State Urban Finance Infrastructure Development Corporation Chairman Viplav Kumar, the son of Keshava Rao.

She also identified the registered document saying that Viplav Kumar had sold the same land to his brother K. Venkateshwara Rao alias Venkat. Jayamala said that her signature had been forged in the documents and that she did not get any response when she approached the local police. So she approached the III Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate.

The Banjara Hills Police filed cases against Viplav Kumar and K. Venkateshwara Rao as per court directions under Sections 417, 464, 465, 468, 470, 471, 120B and 156 (3) of Cr.PC. The police named Keshava Rao’s eldest son Viplav Kumar as A-1, and younger son Venkateshwararao as A-2 in the FIR.
