The Hayat Nagar police seized Rs 2 crore in cash in five bags from a car during vehicle checking near Pedda Amberpet within the police station limits on Thursday.
LB Nagar Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Koteshwar Rao said that the accused Sampathi Sivakumar Reddy, Surakanti Mahender Reddy, Tatikonda Mahender Reddy, Nimmani Naveenkumar Reddy and Survi Ramesh of Hayath Nagar were detained. When interrogated, it was found that the money was being transferred to Choutuppal.
So far, the enforcement agencies have seized Rs 657 crore in cash, liquor, gold and other freebies in Telangana since October 9.
