Poll panel officials inspect steps for new polling stations

Central Election Commission (CEC) officials Udita Khandapal and Shivam Arora visited the district to inspect the revision of the revised list of voters and arrangements for new polling stations on Friday. They called on the District collector V Prasanna Venkatesh to be courteous.

On the occasion, the District Collector said that the publication of the draft amendment of the list of voters undertaken in the district has been completed and the deadline for receiving objections has been given till December 8. After that, according to the instructions of the Election Commission, the final list of voters would be released.

The Collector said that the officials of the Central Election Commission discussed with him the issue of the removal of seven polling stations in flooded areas due to the Polavaram project and the setting up of 8 new polling stations in their place. After that, the Central Election Commission officials left for Polavaram. District Revenue Officer A V Satyanarayanamurthy, Jangareddygudem RDO Jhansirani, State Election Commission Officer S V Mallikarjun Reddy, and others participated.
