State Skill Development and Training Department Principal Secretary Suresh Kumar has directed that the syllabus of polytechnic students should be upgraded every year in accordance with national and international competition. Proposals should be prepared for setting up a high-level expert committee for this purpose. Suresh Kumar held review meetings on the Polytechnic education system at the Technical Education Department office here.
On the occasion, Suresh Kumar said that the committee should be able to make appropriate suggestions to the government every year on the syllabus. National-level subject matter experts should be given a place in the committee. A Cabinet note should be prepared for the approval of the government on facilities and construction activities in the newly sanctioned government polytechnics in Maidukuru, Bethamcherla and Guntakal.
Suresh Kumar advised the officials to prepare a special training system for the polytechnic faculty. He said that only when the teachers have full understanding of the modern methods used by the industries will it reach the students. He said that the training policy needed to be formulated comprehensively including how many people should be trained every year and where the training should be provided.
Commissioner Ch Nagarani explained various aspects and the programmes undertaken specially for creating jobs for polytechnic students. She said that they had been working so that no single student should be without employment. She said that various measures had been taken regarding the changes in the syllabus and efforts were being made to prepare the students according to the competition.
Technical Education Department Joint Director Velaga Padma Rao, Secretary Ramana Babu, Deputy Directors Dr B Kalyan, Dr MA Ramakrishna, Dr Vijaya Bhaskar, Joint Secretaries Janaki Ramaiah, Satyanarayana and others attended the meeting.
