Praja Vani: Beneficiaries seek basic facilities in flats

Double bedroom beneficiaries are making rounds to the office gates of the Praja Bhavan again and again for basic amenities in their flats. Pattadars went to Praja Bhavan three times, GHMC Praja Vani three times and the collectorate more than once. On Monday, 100 beneficiaries went to the GHMC head office and submitted their applications.
Around 68,000 people got 2BHKs at Ahmedguda village, Keesara mandal and Medchal Malkajgiri district. Beneficiaries getting distressed over the officials’ inaction against their efficiency for the last seven months. They just have the rooms but not power connection, water supply and other basic necessities.
One of the beneficiaries Vijay said, “More than 68,000 beneficiaries got the pattas in October 2023. In the same month, election code was released. When we went to the officials, all of them asked the beneficiaries to come after the elections. It has been more than three months but nothing has been done to our 2BHK flats.”
The Praja Vani started with these people on the first day and people came here again and again three times. But no action has been taken yet. Officials are asking for one more month to sort out their problems.
One of the beneficiaries K Hanuja said, “On the first day of GHMC Praja Vani, around 100 beneficiaries came here and told their problems to GHMC commissioner Ronald Rose, but still our basic problems have not been cleared. We went to all government offices and public representative offices. Now, we do not have any idea where to go.”
Pushpalatha said, “We will be grateful to them if the officials sorted out the basic necessities before reopening the schools after the summer vacation”.
A total of 334 requests were received across GHMC Praja Vani. Among them 257 requests were received in the head office and 77 requests were received in the zonal offices. Charminar zone received one application, 5 applications in Secunderabad Zone, 42 in Kukatpally Zone, 17 in Serilingampally, 5 in Khairatabad Zone and 7 applications in LB Nagar Zone were received.
