The poorest of the poor, including physically challenged individuals, agricultural labourers, landless people and sanitation workers should be given top priority while allotting houses under the Indiramma Housing Scheme, the CM told officials here on Friday.
Addressing a review meeting held at his residence, the Chief Minister stressed the need to prioritize beneficiaries who have land in the first phase. He asked officials to make village secretaries and mandal-level officers accountable for smoothly implementing the scheme by using available technology. The CM also stressed the importance of developing a flawless Indiramma Housing mobile app to ensure that the beneficiaries face do not face difficulties throughout the process.
Highlighting the importance of inclusivity, the Chief Minister suggested introducing a special quota for tribals and
areas under Integrated Tribal Development Agencies (ITDAs). He also approved allowing beneficiaries the freedom to construct additional rooms in the allotted houses.
The CM recommended strengthening the Housing Department by appointing adequate officers and staff to ensure the scheme’s effective implementation. He warned against any lapses or mistakes at the departmental level and asked officials to take precautions to maintain transparency and efficiency.
Housing Minister P. Srinivasa Reddy, Chief Minister’s Advisor Vem Narender Reddy, Principal Secretary Chandrasekhar Reddy, Housing Secretary Dr Jyoti Buddha Prakash, Special Secretary VP Gautam and other officials attended the meeting.
