The three-day Global Health Summit began in the port city of Visakhapatnam on Friday. The American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (AAPI) is organising the 16th Global Health Summit here in Vizag. Speaking on the occasion, Minister for Health, Medical and Family Welfare Vidadala Rajini said that Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy was giving top priority to the medical and health sector.
She said that the conference would be the beginning of providing more services in the medical field. It is suggested to develop the medical field on par with international standards by adopting the new changes abroad and within the country. She said that the Chief Minister implemented schemes like Family Physician and YSR Health Clinic.
Rs 16,000 crores have been allocated to ensure that people get timely medical care under Nadu-Nedu and 48,000 staff have been appointed in the medical department, She released the Global Health Summit souvenir at the conference. State Industries Minister Gudivada Amarnath said that due to Covid infection lakhs of people died during the last two years. He requested that necessary research be carried out to prevent such pandemics. He said that discussions among distinguished doctors in such summits would be very useful. Their suggestions and advice will be useful for the government. Amarnath said that although the fourth wave of Corona is approaching, no cases have been registered in the state due to strict measures taken by the state government.
District Collector Mallikarjuna, Medical and Health Commissioner J Nivas, Special Officer Naveen Kumar, Dr Soumya Swarnalatha, Dr Abjit Sheth, Former Vice Chancellor of Health University Dr Ravi Raju, Dr Visveswararanga, Dr Suresh Karan, Leena Gupta, etc. participated in the conference.
