Anand Deverakonda is coming up with an intensely emotional love story, Baby, written and directed by Sai Rajesh, who also produced the National Award winning film Color Photo. Vaishnavi Chaitanya is the film’s female lead. The film, bankrolled by SKN under the Mass Movie Makes banner, is already creating excellent buzz with the release of every song. The movie is a living testament to what exceptional music can do when it comes to film promotion.
All set to release worldwide on July 14, the makers of the movie are busy with promotional activities. As the producer celebrates his birthday today (July 7), he spoke to the media about Baby and gave more insights about the film.
The producer, who feels the music is one of the biggest assets of the movie, shared that the music in Baby takes on greater importance in the film and that the entire music department and the singers are all Telugu people. He gives all the credit to music composer Vijay for the buzz the movie is creating even before its release.
Asked what made him take up this project, he said, “There are scenes in this film that have never been seen before in a love story. I’m amazed at how the director crafted those scenes. The film’s sequences between the three main characters take a novel approach. Before the interval, there will be a major twist. When Sai Rajesh narrated this story to me during the filming of Taxiwala, I was impressed with the story and assured him that this would be my next project. I liked the director’s approach and decided to make this film following Taxiwala. I’ve done several films in collaboration with other producers in the past, but I’ve decided to make this one as a solo producer.”
The film took as long as one and a half years to make because of COVID. The producer spilled the beans, saying that when the director decided to make Baby with Anand, the actor’s first movie hadn’t even hit the screens yet. “Even if there is a star hero in the house, Anand is simple. In this film, there are two heroes, and I believed Anand would do well. When I did the film with Vijay Deverakonda, Arjun Reddy had not yet been released. I made the film with the expectation that he would become a star. And with this film, Anand will make a name for himself as an actor. Baby will become a special film in his career,” he shared.
SKN confessed that he watched many love stories because of his personal life experiences. “I’ve had love failures. As a result, I watch more love stories. I’ve been on the Baby film sets for two years. From now on, I intend to do two thetrical films, and one OTT film per year. All of the stories I’ve heard during the pandemic will be told in the future. These films will be in different genres, like popular sci-fi, horror, and the supernatural. But if we all do the same thing, we’ll end up with fewer stories. In the future, I will not take that route. Many people recommended I direct, but I’m not interested. Sai Rajesh will do two more films with Mass movie makers: one with Color Photo director Vikram Nand, one with VI Anand and another with Shyam Singha Roy director Rahul. There will be an official announcement soon.”
Not many know that SKN began his journey as a journalist, and that’s where he learned the discipline of life. “As a journalist and PR professional, I learned everything. I learned about film promotions while working as a PRO for celebrities. I feel more like a member of the audience than a producer. I feel the Baby movie will connect with the audience because of its story. They leave the cinema hall with a heavy heart, thinking about the film. Bunny Garu is not required to attend the promotions. He’s my everlasting attachment,” concluded the producer.
