Professionals to help revise Commerce syllabus

The Department of Commerce at the University College of Commerce and Business Management participated in a meeting to bring the industry specialists, professionals and the academicians on to one platform to revise the syllabus in the Commerce streams.

  Prof R Limbadri, Chairman, TSCHE, said, the Department of Commerce was represented by Sr Prof D Chenappa, Head, Department of Commerce, Sr Prof V Appa Rao, Chairman, Board of Studies and Prof M Gangadhar, Dean, Faculty of Commerce.

 From the Professional bodies, CMA Vijay Krian Agasthya, CA Deppak Ladda, CA, Shankar Narayana, CS. Ahaladha Rao, CMA Lavanya. Prof I Shekar, Prof G Naresh Reddy from the Department of Commerce and other Senior Faculty members from the affiliated and constituent colleges under the jurisdiction of Osmania University participated in the meet.

 Sr Prof D Chennappa reiterated the need for the Industry and the academia coming together and focusing on designing a proper curriculum with futuristic needs, which is very pertinent for the student community and thanked everyone for taking time out of their business schedules to give their valuable inputs.

 Speaking on the occasion, Prof Limbadri emphasised the need for changes to be brought in the syllabus with the rapid changes happening in the corporate world and the need to be in sync with the changing technology. He exhorted the members to develop syllabus which is student centric and to focus on specialisations that would cater to the industry requirements. He lauded the efforts of the Department of Commerce for taking this initiative.

 Prof V Appa Rao, CBOS, conveyed the changes are to be brought in at the BCom UG and MCom, PG levels. Prof M Gangadhar, Dean, Faculty of Commerce, conveyed the imminent need for the synergy of industry and academia working for the cause of the students in the field of commerce and urged the industry representatives and the professionals for their continuous support in future too.
