‘Promote habit of reading among students’

School Education Commissioner and Samagra Shiksha State Project Director S Suresh Kumar has said that everyone should try to promote the habit of reading among students.

Suresh Kumar flagged off NBT Pustaka Parikrama, the travelling book fair organised by the National Book Trust (NBT) under the supervision of the Ministry of Education, at Koneru Basavaiah Chowdary ZPH School for Boys at Patamata in Vijayawada on Tuesday.

Speaking on the occasion, Commissioner Suresh Kumar stressed the importance of reading books in improving their knowledge. He asked the students to make use of the travelling book fair, which would visit various villages on the banks of Krishna till January 24. Besides, book exhibitions will be organised in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka and Maharashtra States for 45 days, he said.

National Book Trust India Telugu Editor and Southern Region Officer in-charge Dr Pattipaka Mohan, Samagra Shiksha State Additional Project Director B Srinivasa Rao and children’s writer M Krishna Kumar were present.
