Protest marks Hiroshima Day

The All-India Peace Society Organisation (AIPSO), AISF, and AIYF jointly organised a protest to mark the day when America dropped an atomic bomb over Hiroshima in Japan and killed millions of people, at the Lenin Centre in Vijayawada on Sunday.

The participants raised slogans for world peace, carrying placards that read “Yuddhalu Vaddu – Shanthi Muddu”, “Prapancha Shanti Vardhillali” etc.

During the Second World War, America dropped the atomic bomb over Hiroshima city on August 6, 1945. After the bomb blast, the industrial and military centre of Hiroshima city was demolished. As many as 3.50 lakh people died and another 35,000 were injured, the speakers at the protest programme said.

The government should try to stop the war between Ukraine and Russia through discussion. Also, the PM should intervene in the violence in Manipur, they demanded.

AIPSO State convener M Subba Rao, AIYF State secretary Lenin Babu, AISF State president Johnson Babu, leaders Penchalaiah, Harshavardhan, M Arun Kumar, and others were present.
