Telangana Governor Dr Tamilisai Sounderrajan said that Chief Ministers who were critical of governors should talk about protocol issues too.Speaking at the Raj Bhavan the Governor said, “Same CMs should be asked why the protocol is not followed. Why is it only unidirectional? You don’t follow the protocol but expect Governors to stay calm. In Telangana, we have not crossed limits. Is the CM asking collectors not to follow protocol? We are responsible people and know how to behave.”
She said that she is not going to talk about other states but she asked why the Telangana government did not follow protocol. Dr Tamilisaid questioned the bias against the governor. She said governors are doing their duties but in Telangana, there are activities against the Governor. “I am doing my duty. There are some bills pending. I have to analyse.
There are no protocols for me but they are blaming Governors. What is the attitude of the government? Till now we have received no MSG about Republic Day, respect to the chair, and the constitution.
She said that she will not talk about politics while holding a constitutional post. Dr Tamilisai asked why the Governor is being looked down by the KCR government. She said that he has been in politics for many years and knows the protocol. Dr Tamilisai expressed anger at how the Governor’s system was mocked. She accused KCR of insulting the Governor.
Addressing the BRS public meeting held in Khammam yesterday, the CMs accused governors of being ignorant and Prime Minister Modi as the one who is troubling Chief Ministers.
It is alleged that governors are given a good salary, luxurious buildings and comfortable posts for five years, and then calls are made from Delhi to trouble the CMs. Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, CPI leader D. Raja and others attended the BRS public meeting in Khammam spoke about Governors acting against the state government. With Republic Day and the budget session of the legislature that will follow one has to see how the government responds.”
