District Collector Krithika Shukla underlined the need to provide nutritious food to malnourished children for their growth and health.
A programme of ‘Additional Nutrition Support to Malnourished Children’ was organized at the Sambashivanagar Anganwadi Centre here on Saturday. SPMCIL Company under Corporate Social Responsibility provided nutritious food to the malnourished children.
Speaking on the occasion, the Collector said that 3750 children identified as severely malnourished in Kakinada district would be provided ghee and millet chickpeas with the financial assistance of this company.
She said that through the project, the beneficiaries would be provided nutritious food through Anganwadi centers for six months for which Rs 68.72 lakh was allocated.
Chilukuri Ramkumar, Independent Director of SPMCIL said that the SPMCIL company is running under the supervision of the Central Government. Currency, passport, non-judicial, stamps, postal stamps, printing by SPMCIL company is done through 9 units across the country.
As part of community development, health care, sanitation, drinking water, education, disability, women’s empowerment, environment, and village development are all part of the development of the community, to provide economic prosperity and quality of life to the people by creating infrastructure.
