The sequel to the film featuring Allu Arjun and director Sukumar, Pushpa 2, is scheduled to release on December 5. The makers recently organised a successful promotional event in Patna, leading them to become overly confident about the success of the film, according to the source. Currently in the industry, there are rumours that the film producers have already prepared promotional materials for the first and second day earnings before the film’s release. The producers have already prepared promotional boards worth Rs 300 crore to be distributed on the movie’s premiere day.
The film has not been released yet, but the producers are already predicting the first day, second day and weekday’s earnings, displaying their excessive confidence, according to a producer, on the condition of anonymity.
“If the film has good content, it automatically collects money; there is hype for this film; promote it carefully and you have to wait till the release of the film,” said the producer.
According to a source, the creators invested a significant amount of funds in Pushpa 2 since the production schedule lasts for an extended period and involves hundreds of working days. “For a big star like Allu Arjun, the shooting expenses for a day are going to be Rs 1 crore and you can imagine how many days they worked for this film,” said a source. To earn profits for the producers, the film must amass over Rs 500 crore in revenue. The OTT rights were already sold for almost Rs 250 crore; however, the movie needs to make significant earnings from theatrical releases.
The makers also unveiled the trailer; however, it received mixed feedback as it failed to attract the Telugu viewers much.
“It seems they focused more on the Hindi audience and according to that, they made the trailer,” added the source.
