In a remarkable achievement, a team of final-year Civil Engineering students from PVP Siddhartha Institute of Technology (PVPSIT), Vijayawada, secured the First Prize in the ICI-RDC National Level Mix Design & Cube Test Competition, organised by the Indian Concrete Institute (ICI) in collaboration with RDC Concrete (India) Limited. The event was held at Anna University, Guindy, Chennai, on October 4.
The winning team, comprising TB Deveswar Sai Singh, Shaik Aleema, and G. Ramanjaneyulu Prasad, outshone competitors from top institutions across the country to claim the top honour and a prize worth Rs 1 lakh. Their project showcased sustainable techniques in concrete mix design, a crucial element of modern construction.
Dr Jagadish Vengala, Head of the Civil Engineering Department and mentor to the team expressed pride in the students’ achievement, stating, “This accomplishment underscores the talent and technical expertise our students possess. It’s an honour to see them excel on a national platform.”
Dr K. Sivaji Babu, Principal of PVPSIT, along with Paladugu Lakshmana Rao, Secretary of Siddhartha Academy, extended their heartfelt congratulations to the students for their outstanding performance. They emphasised that this victory not only brings pride to the institution but also reinforces PVPSIT’s commitment to fostering academic and practical excellence in engineering education
