Rachakonda SHE Teams hold counselling for eve-teasers

Rachakonda Commissioner of Police (CP) G Sudhir Babu said that the Rachakonda SHE Teams will not let go of the hooligans who harass girls and women and women should complain fearlessly during the counselling session conducted for eve-teasers by Rachakonda Women Safety Wing.
SHE Teams arrested 108 people. Among them 67 were majors and 41 were minors, who were harassing young women in Rachakonda Commissionerate. They were counselled at the LB Nagar CP Camp office in the presence of their family members.
T Usha Vishwanath, head of the Rachakonda Women’s Protection Department said, “About 133 complaints were received from January 16 to 31. With regard to the complaints received, about 29 women were harassed through phones, 18 were harassed through WhatsApp calls and messages, 32 were harassed through social media apps and 54 were directly harassed. Among the cases, five are criminal cases and 68 are petty cases.” The investigation has been completed after taking up the inquiry on the complaints, she added.
Some of the important cases are, a young resident of Neredmet made his classmate believe that he would marry her in the name of love. When she was alone, the accused went and sexually assaulted her on the pretext of marriage. When she asked him about marriage, he said that he was not interested, he would not marry, blocked her number and got engaged to another girl. The victim approached SHE Team Kushaiguda about the matter and a case was registered against him under Section 376(2)(n), 417, 420 IPC at Neredmet PS. The accused was arrested and sent to jail.
