Declaring that the BRS’s social media warriors are uncultured and that they do not appreciate the differences between an elder sister, younger sister and mother, the BJP’s Medak MP, M. Raghunandan Rao, said that as a younger brother he stands by Endowment Minister Konda Surekha and that cases will be filed against those who post offensive material on social media.
“BRS social media activists posted uncultured material on the relationship between mother, elder sister and younger sister. As a younger brother, I offered a handloom garland to Surekha after getting her permission. When Prime Minister Modi came, I offered such a garland. The BRS spread lies regarding this. As a brother, I am deeply sorry for the pain caused to my sister. Those who posted this will be dragged to court. There is a photo of Harish Rao and KCR on the person’s DP. Are BRS leaders having no control over their social media warriors? If those who post offensive material are yours hand them over to the police. Details of the trollers have been collected and a complaint has been filed with the police,” Raghunandan said.
He said that he had offered the handloom garland to Surekha to bring handloom weavers’ problems to her attention.
“I did not expect that they would speak in such an uncultured manner. KTR and Harish Rao should respond to this and control their social media warriors and also apologise. The BRS has no regard for women. The BRS did not give a place to women in Telangana’s first cabinet. It is painful to see the criticism as the programme was held in the presence of thousands of people. I am sorry for the inconvenience caused to my sister Surekha,” he said.
Raghunandan said that BRS leaders have to face adversaries politically and must not post material against women. The police must arrest such people within 24 hours or they will do such things again, he said.
