Education Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy said that Ragi java will be given to students as breakfast in government schools. The Minister mentioned that the programme will be formally launched to mark the Education Day on June 20 as part of the decade celebrations of the state.
It will be given for three days a week. She said that 250 ml of Ragi java will be provided to the students before the prayer time. The Minister stated that 25.26 lakh students in 28,606 government schools across the state will benefit by the scheme.
The Minister reviewed the performance of the Education Department in the office of the Secretariat. Ministers and MLAs said that on the occasion of Telangana Education Day to be held on June 20, the Ministers and MLAs will inaugurate 1,000 modernised government schools with all facilities under ‘Mana Ooru – Mana Badi’ and ‘Mana Basti – Mana Badi’ across the state. More than 16.27 lakh students studying in Class 1 to V in the state will be provided with three work books each and 12.39 lakh students studying in Class VI to X will be provided with one notebook per subject.
