The Telangana State Commission for Women (TSCW) announced on Sunday that it took notice of the allegations of the BRS sarpanch of Jankipuram village in the Dharmasagar mandal of Hanmakonda district against the BRS’ Station Ghanpur MLA, Dr Thatikonda Rajaiah, suo moto and had directed DGP Anjani Kumar to probe the issue personally.

The TSCW tweeted in this regard on Sunday saying “@SCWTelangana has taken cognizance of the matter. Chairperson @sunitavakiti has already written to @TelanganaDGP to personally intervene in the matter. @TelanganaToday @ntdailyonline.”

The TSCW also tweeted saying “@SCWTelangana has also sought action against the allegations if they are found to be true and to conduct a fair investigation in the matter. A detailed action taken report must be presented to the Commission as soon as possible.”

Meanwhile, MLA Thatikonda Rajaiah went to Janakipuram sarpanch Navya’s residence on Sunday and apologised to her. It is learnt that Rajaiah went to Navya’s residence due to pressure from the BRS high command.

Rajaiah conducted a press meeting at Navya’s residence. Speaking to the media, Rajaiah requested Navya to forgive him if he had caused her mental agony.

“Forgive me if I committed a mistake knowingly or unknowingly. I regret the developments that took place. The BRS high command has directed us to work in unison,” Rajaiah said.

Sarpanch Navya reiterated that her every word against Rajaiah was true. “I stick to my allegations against MLA Rajaiah. My children were also sexually harassed. We (women) will not keep quiet if anyone harasses us. Women are facing injustices in society. People have to respect women whoever they may be. I will forgive anyone if they accept their mistake. I will not keep quiet if Rajaiah repeats it. I am ready to burn anyone who troubles women. I will continue condemning the misdeeds in the BRS. I became the sarpanch due to Rajaiah. But there must not be harassment in politics,” Navya said.

Navya demanded that MLA Rajaiah should tell the media what he will do for developing the village. Rajaiah announced that he would sanction Rs 25 lakh for the development of Janakipuram village on the spot.

It may be recalled that Navya’s sexual harassment charges against MLA Rajaiah created a storm in Telangana. Navya alleged that Rajaiah had asked her to come out alone for shopping and meet him.

Navya also alleged that Rajaiah has been harassing her and that he had told her that he had given her the BRS ticket only because of his ‘attraction’ towards her.

Rajaiah immediately denied Navya’s allegations. But Rajaiah later went to Navya’s residence and apologised to her in front of the media.
