Rajiv Gandhi’s contribution to Science and Tech remembered

Shadnagar MLA Veerlapalli Shankar, along with Congress party leaders, organised a programme in Shadnagar of Rangareddy district to commemorate the death anniversary of former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi. They recalled his contribution to Science and Technology.
The event, held on Tuesday, saw locals paying homage by garlanding Rajiv Gandhi’s statue at Farooq Nagar and distributing fruits and bread to patients at the government hospital.
MLA Veerlapalli Shankar highlighted Rajiv Gandhi’s pivotal role in advancing India’s technological landscape. He praised Rajiv Gandhi as a visionary leader who, despite his young age, left an indelible mark on the nation through his service as prime minister. Shankar credited India’s progress in Science and Technology to Rajiv Gandhi’s leadership and decision-making.
Reflecting on Rajiv Gandhi’s statesmanship, Shankar recalled the late former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s admiration for Rajiv Gandhi’s values in politics and his role in providing medical treatment abroad during Vajpayee’s tenure. He emphasised the need for every Congress worker to uphold Rajiv Gandhi’s aspirations.
Shankar also expressed confidence in the leadership of Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, guided by the blessings of Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, in carrying forward Rajiv Gandhi’s vision for the State. The event was attended by various Congress party members, including PCC members Mohammed Ali Khan Babar, MPP Khaja Ahmad Idris, ZPTC Venkatarami Reddy, town Congress president Chennaiah, Mandal president Srikanth Reddy, Minority leader Jamrud Khan and Youth Congress leader Purushottam Reddy and Councillor Krishnaveni.
