Ram Gopal Varma applauds director Girikrishna’s vision for Saree

Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma (RGV) is set to release his latest film, Saree, featuring Aardhya Devi and Satya Yadu in the lead roles. As with many of his previous projects, RGV is introducing fresh faces to the industry. “I wrote the story for this film and gave Girikrishna the opportunity to direct it,” Varma shared. “He made the film much better than my script. Director Girikrishna Kamal has been associated with me for a long time and worked on many of my films. When I discussed this subject with him, he contributed some great ideas, so I decided he should direct it.”
Varma revealed that Saree explores the dangers of excessive social media use and its potential consequences. “A talented team has worked on this project, and their contributions outweigh mine,” he acknowledged. The film’s music is composed by Sashi Preetham, while cinematography is handled by Sabari. “Sabari’s visuals truly enhance the mood of the film and complement the storytelling,” he added.
Director Girikrishna Kamal expressed gratitude for the creative freedom he was given by RGV. “He never dictated how I should direct the film,” he said. “Saree is an intense drama centered around two main characters. Satya Yadu’s role is not that of a conventional hero, while Aaradhya Devi’s character required her to embrace a de-glamorised look at times. We are thrilled to work under RGV’s mentorship.”
