As the world celebrates Women’s day today, The Pioneer got the rapture to interact with “the national crush”, whose been an inspiration for creating her own niche as a performer.

The previous year has been good for the most popular, trending Tollywood actress Rashmika Mandanna. So much so that: the upcoming year will see her share of acting credits doubled! Without a doubt, we can say that — actresses like her are making an impressive advancement in making clear progress toward showbiz. The so-called gatekeepers of the entertainment industry can wait now. Because with an influential star like her, the industry is changing for the better, with more female representation in lead roles!

But there is always more work to be done, so to make our readers conscious about it — The Pioneer is filled with gratitude to have “the national crush” on board with us empowering more actresses in Indian cinema on the occasion of women’s day.

“As an actress, my social media is how I am breaking ground with a clear and free voice. I communicate better when I put it in black and white. Sometimes, speaking out loud about my outlook on a specific topic is misunderstood. In whatever way, I can still call to mind a powerful oration I gave during the promotion of Dear Comrade. It was my character in the movie that inspired me to deliver it and create an impact on the women.”

In spite of being a talented female energy in the entertainment industry — there are some critics that can never be satisfied with whatever Rashmika has to offer. There are times when she’s brutally trolled, and in that time you’ll see the SIIMA award winner shining brightly on the screens.

Why this moral policing, why unnecessary meme creators? The actress reverts back, “This merciless behaviour must be “trolling” for the world — to me, it’s sheer cynicism. I am not the only injured party in this vague behaviour, most of the actresses are. Judgmental people keep preying on us to feed their egoistic selves, that’s all. Since I am a public and renowned figure, I become an easy target for the netizens. Hoping this “online chaos” comes to an end now.”

Encouraging more self-love, Varisu fame elaborates, “I am not settling for less than what I deserve. Practicing self-love has evolved me into this. Initially, we women wonder if it meant spoiling ourselves. Booking a spa appointment, applying sheet masks, or crashing down. Gradually, it made me realise that ‘hey, just give yourself a break from self-judgment’. Have a difficult conversation with yourself too! It has transformed me into such a better human being that I spend most of my free time with family, keep away my cell phone when having a gala time with close friends, and so much more.

Mental health also plays a key role in our lives and when it’s looked down upon as a taboo — it saddens me. On the occasion of women’s day, I would like to suggest to the budding talent in this industry and more to always seek help whenever you feel gloomy in the chaos of showbiz. Our industry is a beautiful place to transcend emotions, if struggling at any given moment in life — do not hold yourself back from seeking professional help. Acknowledgment is the key.”
