Rathika Rose: I am a solo traveler; I enjoy my own company

Must read

Irrespective of the language that India’s most controversial show, Bigg Boss, telecasts in, every episode that the show brings has its own twists and turns. And talking of the Telugu Bigg Boss, recently, with the double eviction, actress Rathika Rose had to yet again leave the house.
And so now, after her stint in Bigg Boss, any plans to travel? Why not? After all the hustle-bustle in the show, wouldn’t traveling be the best rejuvenation one would need? Well, the actress is going to travel to Goa today for the Santosham Film Awards 2023, and she’s going to blow our minds with her performance. How???? She reveals to us exclusively that she’s going to perform a special dance during the ceremony.
And this is not just it? After her eviction, the actress made sure to take her passport and fly all the way to Bangkok. Just like how it has been for many, traveling to different countries, different states, and even different cities is the best way to relax your body, rejuvenate your body and mind, and just live in the moment. Similar has been true for her as well. Taking some time from her dance rehearsals, the Bigg Boss Telugu fame shares, “Travelling helps in making me get stress-free mentally and physically. I prefer traveling alone—a solo traveler I am. In fact, I mostly prefer nighttime journeys. Every time I feel stressed and need some fresh air, I just pack my bags and go for a trip.”
The different culture that she got to experience there in Bangkok was something worth mesmerizing, and she says, “I really enjoyed their culture there because, one, the food there is very tasty (we giggle). And something that I really adored about the people there was that they chose their own lifestyle and did not bother about what’s going on with the rest. The individuality that you get to see in people is so heartwarming there.”
In fact, she also recalls how she used to bargain with the local vendors there and how calmly they’d refuse to reduce the price. Hahahaha! But again, that was something she really cherished during her trip. And so, more than experiencing a staycation there, being a solo traveler, she preferred exploring the surroundings there and enjoying the beauty.
She had stayed in Pattaya for three days, the reason being that “Bangkok is like a business hub with commercial buildings. In Pattaya, I got to explore, meet, and interact with the locals there, enjoying the beach, and of course, the hotels there gave you a glimpse at the local culture. I used to have my breakfast and used to go for a walk every day and get back to sleep. The night walks I got to do were just amazing. I majorly focused on exploring rather than staying in the hotels.”
She’s been one of those who does not prefer going to the same place more than once or twice. Every time she is under intense pressure, she looks to explore a new place and a new city.
The actress, who will next be ticking off Leh Ladakh from her bucket list, signs of this fun chitter-chatter on a brighter note, saying, “People might prefer traveling with their friends and families. But I’m someone who enjoys traveling solo and enjoying my own company, which gives you some mental peace. As a woman, one should not fear if they’ve got the zeal to travel. There are many countries and places that receive a traveler or a foreigner as their own guest, which is very overwhelming. And so, people need to explore, and once you explore, you’ll get to know a lot of things. If you sit in just a corner, you’ll miss out on many things. Just get up, pack your bags, and explore.”
