The Andhra Pradesh Rythu Bharosa Kendras Employees Welfare Association (APRBKEWA) has urged Civil Supplies Commissioner H Arun Kumar to permit only Village Agricultural Assistants (VAA) to schedule farmers’ details. APRBKEWA president K Vijay Mohan, treasurer G Arun Kumar and women’s secretary Mounika submitted a representation to Civil Supplies Commissioner H Arun Kumar here on Monday.

The AP RBK Employees Association leaders said that the government would withdraw additional burdens on VAAs at the paddy procurement centres as per the government orders. In previous years, Trucksheet and FTOs generation’s duties were handled at PACS and DCMS, they said. If these duties were allotted to VAAs, it would be an additional burden on them.

“Procurement of paddy is related to money matters. Transactions worth crores of rupees have been happening at the RBKs. So, we are not ready to take the additional burden. The government should withdraw the additional burdens and discharge the duty of scheduling the farmers’ details,” they said. Later, Commissioner Arun Kumar assured that VAAs would discharge their duties as usual and necessary orders would be issued soon. APRBKEWA leader B Venkateswara Rao, NTR district vice-president V Sainath, Prakasam district president G Manohar and others were present.
