Guntur Municipal Corporation (GMC) Commissioner Keerthi Chekuri has asked the realtors to take required permissions for layouts and warned of action if they start new ventures without getting approvals for layouts.
The civic chief inspected layouts located at Kakani road for which the realtors applied for approvals for their layouts. She also inspected the apartments located at Nandivelugu road for which the builder applied for Occupancy Certificate.
Speaking on the occasion, she warned that action would be taken against the Planning secretary and town planning officers if they found indifference in curbing the illegal layout. The details of the widening portion of the ventures, width of internal roads, dimensions of plots, smart gauge plots, utility area, amenities area, open space, greenery and arrangement of drains were inquired and she inspected them personally.
Later, the Commissioner told the town planning officers to give permission to the ventures as per the government regulations and before sending them for final approvals, adding that the planning authorities should thoroughly examine before giving approvals to the said ventures. She told them to take steps to ensure that the government’s prescribed standards are followed. Permissions should not be granted to ventures that do not comply with the regulations, she instructed the officials.
Keerthi Chekuri directed the planning authorities to ensure that multi-storied buildings are constructed in the city only as per the rules and if the rules are violated, appropriate action should be taken against them.
LTPs must upload the prescribed supporting documents online in DPMS for permits for new multi-storied buildings, failing which further permits should be withheld, she said, adding that occupancy permits should not be given for building constructions not in alignment with the Master Plan.
The Municipal Commissioner said that Occupancy Certificate should not be granted even if any construction was carried in the set back portion and road widening portion, even beyond the prescribed height.
