Record earnings in a day by APSRTC

APSRTC recorded the highest earnings of Rs 23 crore on January 18, surpassing all the previous records in this financial year. The corporation has also earned Rs 55 lakh on the cargo front during Sankranti.

Usually, during the Sankranti season, the highest earnings are recorded every year. However, record earnings achieved this year are unique because normal fares are charged instead of 50 percent additional fares as was done during previous years.

The concept of normal fares is well received by the passengers to cut travel costs during Sankranti, the public preferred RTC buses over private vehicles and personal vehicles too.

On the cargo front also, the Corporation got one day’s highest earnings of Rs 55 lakhs during Sankranthi compared to the average revenue of Rs 45 lakhs per day.

Record earnings were possible because of the effective utilisation of resources to the maximum extent with advance planning and close monitoring. All the staff of the Corporation, particularly the drivers and conductors deserve appreciation for the commitment shown by them during the Sankranthi special operations.

APSRTC VC&MD Ch Dwaraka Tirumala Rao and KS Brahmananda Reddy ED (O) expressed their gratitude to the patrons viz the passengers and cargo customers for the positive encouragement given to the RTC. The Corporation would rededicate to the public with renewed energies and commitment in the coming days also, they said.
