Released after 12 years, Vishal’s film a surprise hit

Actor Vishal was in the news when he attended the pre-release function of his film ‘Madha Gaja Raja’. When he was holding the mike to speak, his hand shivered and there were tears in his eyes. Many showed concern about Vishal’s health at that time. The actor said he attended the film’s function because the film is releasing after 12 years of its completion. The film was supposed to be released in 2013, but due to some financial problems, it was released on January 12, this year. Sundar C is the director with Vishal as the lead actor, while Anjali and Varalakshmi Sarath Kumar played the female leads.
Though Vishal is not well and running high temperature, he came to this film’s function to promote it. A few days later, Vishal attended another event and looked healthy and normal. The interesting thing is that though the film was released after 12 years, it became a hit. The Tamil audience liked the film and it collected a good amount at the box-office. The film soon reached the Rs 50 crore mark, say the trade analysts. The film already got the breakeven and is now into profits. Another interesting point about this ‘Madha Gaja Raja’ is, it is the first Tamil hit film in this New Year.
