In a big relief to TDP chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu in the Angallu violence case, the Andhra Pradesh High Court on Friday granted anticipatory bail to the opposition leader. It can be recalled that a case was registered against Naidu by Mudivedu Police in Annamayya district and Chandrababu moved the AP High Court seeking anticipatory bail in the case. Granting the anticipatory bail to Naidu, the court ordered a Rs 1 lakh bond against the anticipatory bail. Posani Venkateshwarlu advocate on behalf of Chandrababu presented his argument saying it was the YSRCP activists who had pelted stones at the TDP leader’s convoy and explained that the security was only protecting Naidu. The advocate also presented evidence in the form of videos related to the incident. He also went on to question why the locals lodged the complaint four days after the incident and stated that Naidu visited the irrigation projects only after getting the required approval from the police.
After hearing the arguments from the police, Additional AG Ponnavolu Sudhakar Reddy stated that Naidu must have exercised caution not to instigate his supporters and acted responsibly. He also pointed out that several policemen were injured during the incident.
