Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu conducted a review meeting on Saturday with officials regarding the ongoing situation in the State following heavy floods, as well as the disbursement of relief to the affected victims.
The Chief Minister confirmed that relief payments would be made, as officials reported the enumeration process is complete. He had previously announced a maximum relief amount of Rs 25,000 for those living on the first floor of buildings and Rs 10,000 for residents on the second floor and above.
Financial assistance will be extended to businesses that incurred losses due to the floods, with all payments set to be made on the same day. On September 25, the State government will directly credit relief amounts to the accounts of those whose vehicles were damaged, as well as to individuals whose crops and houses were completely submerged.
The Chief Minister emphasised that no flood victim should complain about not being enrolled for relief payments. Officials informed him that out of 10,000 damaged vehicles, insurance claims have been settled for about 6,000. He instructed the officers to expedite the settlement of insurance claims for the remaining vehicles as soon as possible.
