REPORTERS’ DIARY :Scribes at a loss to interview contestants

Must read

During elections, it is customary for media houses to carry interviews with key contestants and profile key constituencies. With Aaya Ram Gaya Rams having a field day, these days scribes in Telangana are at a loss to zero in on the right candidates or at least the most probable ones among the plethora of ticket aspirants. When Dr Kadiyam Kavya withdrew from contesting on behalf of Bharat Rashtra Samithi in Warangal, scribes who had not featured her heaved a sigh of relief. Similar is the case with Ranjith Reddy, who had been announced as BRS candidate from Chevella, but who switched sides and is contesting now as a Congress candidate from the same seat. In such peculiar cases, it is also difficult to pinpoint his ‘rivals’. There is buzz that a few more candidates are going to dump the BRS. Besides, AICC is rethinking Secunderabad’s candidature. Left to their own devices, scribes now want to wait till B-Forms are given. The silver lining is that scribes won’t face such a dicey situation with BJP candidates.
