REPORTERS’ DIARY Sridhar Babu earns praise even from opponents

Regime change is often followed by chop and change of the previous government’s schemes or at least their renaming and repackaging. But the Telangana IT Department seems to be insulated from this as of now. It has not seen major renaming of schemes or policy changes. Minister Dudilla Sridhar Babu apparently believes in continuity. The initiatives launched by the previous government in his wing are continuing. More importantly, he is not shying away from attending events related to initiatives of the past government. This attitude has won him praise even from his opponents. Even those associated with former IT minister KT Rama Rao’s team conceded that Sridhar Babu’s language should ideally be the language that any leader should speak. Dileep Konatham, who had worked as Digital Media Director, said: “This is unlike Revanth, who seems to be on a wild goose chase to rename schemes & initiatives, change emblems of state Govt, attempts to erase legacy of KCR govt etc”. Dileep hoped that better sense would prevail with Revanth letting Ministers like Sridhar Babu manage their ministries without anyone meddling in their affairs.
